The kids have had more days off school (they call them 'snow days' here) than days at school, yet somehow I never ventured very far in the snow until today. For some reason, I never saw this day celebrated much by the English when I lived in England. I don't know if Canadians celebrate it. It is celebrated in many countries around the world though. My dad always bought me flowers on this day, he also bought my mum and sisters some flowers. I like that and I miss my dad's flowers this year. It's been a busy week writing Christmas newsletters and sending them out. I spent about $130 on just postage! But I really don't like needles. Yesterday we went and had our flu shots. Gary and the girls had theirs first to get it over with quick. While they were having theirs done, I was trying hard not to look at or think about the needles.
